Gold Coast theme park Warner Bros. Movie World has officially kicked off its premier Halloween event, Fright Nights, opening tonight for the first of nine selected event dates across October.
Running on selected nights from 3 October through to 31 October 2026, this year's horror event brings a brand-new slate of terrifying experiences alongside returning fan favourites. Guests will face five horror mazes boasting a "Max" thrill level, four immersive scare precincts, plus entertainment and iconic Movie World rides operating after dark.
Five Terrifying Mazes
This year's line-up features five distinct, heart-pounding mazes:
- Eternal Dark: Step aboard the derelict spacecraft Eternal, where a silent vessel pulses with alien infection and half-human crew members hunt for fresh hosts.
- Krypt of Kain: Deep beneath the infamous Hotel of Horrors lies the Krypt of Kain, a former site of ritualistic killings now teeming with twisted fiends.
- DCeased: Darkseid’s anti-life equation returns, turning Earth’s greatest Super Heroes into infected, terrifying monstrosities.
- Circurse: Explore the burnt-out ruins of The Sable Bros. Smile Time Circus and escape the final act of Sir Smiles-a-lot.
- Hellship: Venture into the sunken wreck of the Dark Star cruise liner to uncover the Deamones Cor, the world’s largest ruby, rumoured to open a gateway to Hell.
Scare Precincts and Live Horror Encounters
Outside the mazes, horror spills into the streets across five unique zones and precincts:
- Pain Street: Main Street is transformed into a brutal lawless zone where ruthless enforcers linger in the shadows.
- Carnival Creep Show: Bloodthirsty clowns stalk the Midway Games area leading up to the Maze Hub.
- The Meat Grinder: Monstrous butchers lurk in the dark, hunting for their next meal.
- Slaughter House: The central hub housing four of the mazes, accompanied by a pumping live DJ.
- Fright Central: The heart of the chaos, home to Warner Bros. Horror Encounters and the Main Street stage.
Nightly stage entertainment includes The Summoning opening ceremony at 6:00 PM, performances by Late Night Circus, and the Beetlejuice Freelance Poltergeist Experience. Horror fans can also visit the Roxy Theatre for Friday the 13th: A Deadly 4-D Experience, an R-rated immersive journey highlighting 13 iconic kills from Jason Voorhees.
Event Details and Essential Info
Fright Nights runs from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31 October 2026. Ticket holders are permitted early access through the turnstiles from 5:00 PM.
Due to the intense nature of the scare elements, dark environments, and visual effects, the event is not recommended for children under 14 years of age. Standard event admission includes access to all five mazes, scare precincts, and operating rides. Optional upgrades such as Panic Rooms, Fast Track pass options, and the VIP First Bite pre-event experience are sold separately.
Tickets start from $89 per person and are available online. Advance booking is strongly recommended as capacity is limited and event nights frequently sell out.
