Melbourne’s Biggest Halloween Event Unveiled as Luna Dark 2026 Opens

Details: 22 October 2026

Luna Park Melbourne has launched its annual Halloween festival, Luna Dark 2026, opening tonight for the first of six terrifying after-dark sessions alongside daytime family fun.

Running on selected dates from 22 October through to 1 November 2026, the iconic St Kilda amusement park offers a split format featuring family-friendly daytime activities alongside spine-tingling nighttime scare attractions.

Three Haunted Mazes Headline After-Dark Sessions

Operating from 6:00 PM until midnight during night sessions, Luna Dark introduces three distinct haunted mazes:

Carnival of Screams: A twisted walkthrough set within an abandoned carnival where unhinged clowns, failed illusions, and escaped beasts roam the corridors. (Night Only)
Extreme Phobia - Darkness Experience: A thrill attraction set inside a derelict, dark factory inhabited by sinister creatures that prey on visitors' deepest fears. (Night Only)
Harvest of Horrors: A scarecrow-infested field where eerie creatures and the Reaper lurk amongst the crops. (Day and Night Attraction – parent supervision required for young children)

Live Stage Shows and 18+ Haunted Spirits Bar

Night sessions feature a full line-up of entertainment hosted by drag star Beverly Kills on the main stage, alongside circus performer Sian and live music. Adults aged 18 and over can recharge at the Haunted Spirits Bar, offering a menu of themed Halloween cocktails and drinks.

The park's full suite of attractions operates after dark, giving thrill-seekers the opportunity to ride the Great Scenic Railway, Ghost Train, and Enterprise under the stars. Guests can also test their luck at themed carnival games like eyeball fishing.

Daytime Family Fun and Wizz Fizz Pumpkin Patch

Saturdays (11:00 AM to 5:00 PM) and Sundays (11:00 AM to 7:00 PM) cater specifically to younger children with trick-free daytime sessions.

Families can visit the Wizz Fizz Pumpkin Patch, meet roaming monster characters, collect free sherbet treats, and enjoy photo opportunities with friendly ghosts and ghouls across the park.
