Gold Coast marine park Sea World has launched its popular family Halloween event, Spooky Nights, opening tonight for the first of five select evenings throughout October.
Operating from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM on 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31 October 2026, the after-dark celebration transforms the park into a magical Halloween playground complete with glowing displays, seven immersive precincts, live entertainment, and night-time marine encounters.
Immersive Precincts and Family Entertainment
Spooky Nights offers a variety of themed zones designed specifically for young families and children:
- Ghostly Groove Plaza: The Plaza hosts a light and sound dance party with DJ Princess Spinderella spinning tracks for kids, alongside food options from Pizza Shack and Prime Burgers.
- Shipwreck Bay: Guests can encounter Captain Blue Beard and his kooky pirate crew for playful sword fights and naval battles.
- Pirate Grotto: A lively spot where visitors can join the ragtag pirate crew for singing, interactive fun, and tales of treasure.
- Monster Mansion: The grounds outside the mansion come alive with friendly monsters, including vegetarian vampires and mummies, offering mild scares for little spookers.
- The Black Lagoon: Located at Shark Bay, this precinct provides a rare opportunity to observe sharks and other sea creatures after dark when they are most active.
Shows, Rides, and Character Encounters
In addition to the themed precincts, the event features character meet-and-greets with fan-favourite personalities dressed in their Halloween costumes. Guests can also experience the Monster Mayhem Laser Lightshow alongside a range of Sea World's popular rides under the stars.

Tickets are available online, with holders of a Premium Annual Pass receiving one complimentary entry to the event. Due to limited capacity across the five nights, advance booking is recommended.
