Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld has kicked off its popular after-dark Halloween event, Happy Halloween, opening tonight for a season of spook-tacular family entertainment.
Running on selected nights throughout October from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, the event transforms Dreamworld into a playground packed with tricks, treats, and after-dark rides. Aimed at families and trick-or-treaters of all ages, Happy Halloween offers a lighter, festive alternative to the Gold Coast's scarier nighttime offerings.
Free Trick-or-Treating and Festive Activities
A major highlight for younger guests is the park-wide trick-or-treating experience. Every child ticket includes a Trick-or-Treat sheet, inviting kids to solve riddles and collect sweet treats as they explore the park.
Guests can also drop into Hunter’s Slime Factory to create custom Halloween-inspired slime concoctions, with options ranging from DIY pick-and-mix tubs to ready-to-go tubs available for purchase in-park.
Costume Contests and Character Encounters
Halloween dress-ups are highly encouraged, with guests invited to participate in Belinda’s Boo-tiful Costume Contest. Attendees who share their best Halloween looks using the hashtag #dreamworldau stand a chance to win a share of $1,000 in gift card prizes awarded each event night.
Throughout the evening, visitors can meet park mascots Kenny and Belinda dressed in their Halloween costumes, alongside special seasonal entertainment, spooky surprises, and themed food and beverage options across participating outlets.
Night-Time Rides and Wildlife Experiences
Adrenaline seekers and families alike can enjoy selected Dreamworld rides under the stars, offering a distinct perspective on the park's favourite attractions after dark.
In addition to ride operations, selected wildlife areas remain open after sunset, giving guests a rare opportunity to observe iconic Australian animals at night.
