While most of the world focuses on the Easter Bunny, Dreamworld is bringing back an iconic Australian tradition this April.
Easter Bilby Week returns from April 3 to April 9, 2026, offering families a mix of Easter holiday fun and wildlife education.
As Australia’s largest theme park, Dreamworld balances thrilling rides with dedicated wildlife conservation efforts, and this event is designed to raise both awareness and funds for the endangered Greater Bilby through their wildlife foundation.
What’s On
Most activities are centered around Prestos Café and the Bilby Discovery Centre, typically running between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm daily.
- Daily Educational Bilby Talks (12:45 pm): Head to the Bilby Discovery Centre to meet these nocturnal marsupials. Dreamworld’s wildlife team shares insights into their biology and conservation.
- Bilby Scavenger Hunt ($2): Follow the clues to learn bilby facts. All entries go into a draw to win a Bilby experience for four.
- Bilby Cookie Decorating ($5): Kids can get creative decorating bilby-shaped cookies at Prestos Café.
- Free Bilby Colouring-In: A great "recharge" activity located at Prestos Café for the little ones.
- Pink Lady Bilby Chocolates: Purchase these themed treats throughout the week, with proceeds supporting the Save the Bilby Fund.
Why Visit?
If you are deciding between the major Gold Coast parks this Easter, Bilby Week offers a genuine 'edutainment' experience. Unlike standard character meet-and-greets, it provides a chance for kids to learn about Australian biodiversity.
The timing is also excellent for families; the activities are located near Kenny & Belinda’s Dreamland, making it easy to manage a day with toddlers. Additionally, the event coincides with the Dreamworld Street Food Festival, giving parents significantly better dining variety than a standard park visit.
Top Tips
- Check the Schedule: The Bilby Talk at 12:45 pm only happens once a day. Set a phone reminder so you don’t miss it while waiting in a ride queue.
- Buy Tickets Online: Dreamworld's gate prices are significantly higher than online prices. Always book in advance to save.
- The Food Hack: If you have a multi-park pass, you can pack a picnic and use the shaded areas at WhiteWater World (next door) before returning for the afternoon activities.
- Support the Cause: By choosing Pink Lady Bilbies over standard chocolate, your holiday spending directly supports local conservation.
