Adventure Park is launching two major additions for its upcoming Winter Glow festival, substantially expanding its ride lineup for the winter season.

The theme park in Geelong, Victoria, is primarily known for its water attractions during the summer, but transforms into a winter wonderland from 20 June to 29 August. This year, the headline additions are Drop Zone and the Ice Toboggan, both set to open on 20 June.

Drop Zone: Victoria's Tallest Free-Falling Tower Ride

Taking the crown as the tallest free-fall tower ride in Victoria, Drop Zone stands at 20 metres tall. The thrill attraction aims to deliver an intense vertical drop experience. After checking into their overhead lap harnesses, riders are slowly pulled up the 20-metre column, offering expansive views across the glowing park before a sudden, weightless plunge back to earth.

  • Thrill Level: Moderate
  • Height Requirement: Minimum 90 cm to ride. Guests between 90 cm and 130 cm must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Age Restriction: Suitable for children aged 4 and above.

Ice Toboggan: High-Speed Alpine Tubing

For a more family-orientated rush, the park is introducing a massive 45-metre long, four-lane Ice Toboggan slide.

Simulating a classic alpine pastime, the attraction replaces traditional wooden sleds with custom tubes, allowing up to four riders to race down the ice-covered lanes side by side. It is designed as a smooth but fast-paced winter experience suitable for almost all ages.

  • Experience Type: Activity / Slide
  • Height/Age Requirement: Suitable for adults and children aged 3 and above.
  • Pro Tip: Warm, waterproof clothing is highly recommended for this attraction as riders are sliding down real ice surfaces.

What Else to Expect at Winter Glow

Both new attractions are fully included in the price of admission, joining eight other unlimited theme park rides operating after dark, such as the Crazy Coaster, Wave Swinger, and the Ferris Wheel. Beyond the rides, the event is heavily anchored by winter-themed activities. The indoor Snow Play Zone has been expanded by 40% for this season, packed with 300 tonnes of fresh, real snow for building snowmen and tobogganing. Guests can also test their aim at the Snowball Throw Zone, which features a custom-designed target wall to prevent messy snowball fights.

The park grounds will be illuminated by a massive 3.3 million lights trail, featuring world-class ice sculpting displays and live entertainment. Tickets are date-specific and are available online now, with admission priced by height brackets. Guests under 90 cm enter for free.
