Dreamworld’s newest rollercoaster will be a 1.2km ride that reaches a top speed of 105km/h, featuring multiple inversions and hair-raising features. Steel Taipan opens in late 2021.

It will be the first triple launch rollercoaster in the Southern Hemisphere, based on the award-winning Blue Fire at Europa-Park, but with some new additions.

The new rollercoaster will be manufactured by MACK Rides. It will feature a stall and a reversed twisted half pipe at each end of the launch section, and the world’s first separate spinning gondola attached to the rear of the train.

Trailer:

Taipans are large, fast-moving and highly venomous snakes. They have been referred to as Australia's deadliest snake, which makes it a great choice for the name of the new ride.
